What To Wear

What you wear in your photo plays a huge part in how the end product will look.  Depending on the style you are going for, my first suggestion is to avoid wearing all white or all black.  Also, try not to match others in the photos.  Complementary colors mixed with a few subtle patterns are ideal.  If you are looking for inspiration here are some links to places that carry many beautiful options for portrait clothes.

Don’t be afraid to accessorize.  A cute necklace or bracelet can make an outfit go from drab to fab.

Maternity: For in studio: Low cut fitted leggings, yoga pants, boy cut shorts or underwear and a tank top or tube top to show off your belly.  Tastefully nude photos are also a great idea for those interested.  Outdoor sessions can consist of leggings and a fitted tank, or a long maxi dress.  You really can’t go wrong as long as it’s an outfit fitted and showing off your bump.

Newborn: Naked or in a diaper cover is best.  If you have a favorite baby blanket that you would like to use in your photos feel free to bring that along.

Comfort is key in any portraits, especially with kids.  If someone is uncomfortable that will most likely show in your photographs.
